Logo Design

Client - Isheaga

Overview

Isheaga is a Counseling & Consulting Services website, found by Donicka Budd. It represents an inclusive, strength-based and individual approach to practice. It connects one to their inner wisdom for guidance, clarity and direction offering individual therapy, clinical supervision and group services.

Goal

The goal is to have a logotype that is approachable, and easy to read. The purpose of this logo is to give the brand an identity through simplicity, balance and proportion.

Concept

Isheaga stands for “choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy; and choosing to practice values rather than simply professing them.” This concept gives out such values. The logo shows the intricate nature of life, the typography represents standing strong and the images showcase the connection between nature and people.

Process

The Creative Brief - A meeting was held with the client to understand the vastness of the business. What her vision looked like for the brand and asking questions regarding the services offered and what logos appeal to her.

Researching the industry - To get a feel of the market, it was crucial to learn more about the brand’s competitors and what stands out. It was a good technique to learn what works for the brand, i.e., colours or particular shapes.

Sketching - The client had a great interest in nature and wanted a spiral shape to be included in the logo, to showcase life’s twists and turns. It helped me to have a couple of ideas in mind which then ended on a piece of paper.

Feedback - After digitalizing the final design, it was time for it to put to experiment by adding shapes, fonts, angles and colours. It was then presented to the client to get a different perspective and understand if her wants were met.
